The Dental Assistant Program curriculum offers classes for the skilled person to enter into the health care environment as an assistant in the dental office. Available is the technical certificate. This certificate enables the student to be employed at an entry level. The program is 3 semesters (fall, spring, summer).
The general education classes and credits are transferable to other Allied Health curricula or programs. The student is encouraged to obtain counseling from faculty to ensure that the proper courses are completed prior to registration or transfer to other health programs. Training programs include instruction in oral and dental anatomy, dental radiography, clinical procedures, nutrition, community dentistry, and dental office management. Clinical experience is obtained in local clinics and selected dental offices.
