Entrance Requirements and Placement Process

Acceptance to the college does not guarantee placement in the program.

All students must complete an application to CSI and submit official academic transcripts. In order to apply for the Emergency Medical Technician program, the following items need to be on file in the Lead Instructor’s office at least 7 days before the start of each semester.

• Application to the EMT Program and three professional letters of recommendation.
• Personal resume and cover letter.
• Current AHA Healthcare Provider Certification

Important Additional Information:

• After placement in the program, students must pass a physical exam and show proof of current immunizations including TB, MMR x 2, Hepatitis B, and proof of Chicken Pox. Students must also successfully pass a criminal background check and drug screening test. Students must be 17 years old by time of EMT Certification exam.

Basic and Advanced EMT classes are offered each Spring and Fall semester. Practical labs may be on the CSI Twin Falls campus or at arranged off campus cohort sites.
