General Course Descriptions

PARA 101, 101L, and 101C: Advanced topics such as introduction to prehospital care, medical/legal aspects, ethics, pathophysiology, pharmacology, assessment, airway management, and trauma care.

PARA 201, 201L, and 201C: Advanced medical topics such as pulmonology, cardiology, hematology, psychiatry, pediatrics, obstetrics, and patients with special needs.

PARA 244, 244L, and 244C: Advanced topics in special operations and 405 hour (minimum) field internship.

PARA 248: This is an online pharmacology course that studies topics to include drug origins, sources, pharmacodynamics, pharmacokinetics, medical legal aspects, preparation, dose calculations, administration, indications, contraindications, dosages, and side effects of commonly used prehospital medications.
