Practical Nursing Program

The individual interested in pursing the Practical Nursing Program at the College of Southern Idaho has two start dates from which to choose:

January (Spring Semester)
August (Fall Semester)

BOTH OPTIONS OFFER THE SAME COURSES AND LEARNING EXPERIENCES. THE DIFFERENCE IS IN THE SEQUENCING AND TIMING OF THE COURSES.

AUGUST (Fall Semester) START: This option of the Practical Nursing Program begins in the fall, whan all CSI classes begin, and concludes the end of July the following year. the student is required to:

1. Complete all requirements of the application process as identiffied in the Practical Nursing packet by February 15.
2. Be accepted for admission to the Practical Nursing Program.
3. Demonstrate Math competency by completion of Math in Modern Society (MATH 123 or MATH 143) by passing the class prior to starting date of the Program. (NURP 106 Fundamentals)
4. Demonstrate English competency by completion of English 101 prior to the starting date of the program. (NURP 106 Fundamentals)

5. Complete and Adult, Child, and Infant CPR course prior to the starting date of the Program.

PLEASE NOTE FOR YOUR FINANCIAL PLANNING THAT AT THIS TIME NOT ALL SEMESTERS QUALIFY FOR ALL FINANCIAL AID PROGRAMS.

The English and Math requirements must be completed with a "C" or better prior to entereing the PN program.

 

JANUARY (Spring Semester) START: This option of the Practical Nursing Program begins in the Spring, when all CSI classes begin, and conclude the end of December the same year. The student id required to:

1. Complete all requirements of the application process as identified in the Practical Nursing packet by October 15.
2. Be accepted for admission into the Practical Nursing Program.
3. Demonstrate Math competency by completion of Math in Modern Society (MATH 123 or MATH 143) by passing the class prior to starting date of the Program. (NURP 106 Fundamentals)

4. Demonstrate English competency by completion of English 101 prior to the starting date of the program. (NURP 106 Fundamentals)
