The College of Southern Idaho recognizes and advocates the critital need for computer literacy. It is important for students to understand the importance of computer literacy in their own lives. and its relevance to their future success.
All CSI academic students matriculating (beginning or changing a program/major) Fall 2001 and after are required to demonstrate competency in computer literacy by achieving a satisfactory score (70%) on the Computer Skills Assessment (CSA) prior to graduation. The CSA is comprised of six parts: E-mail/Internet, general technology, word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation—using the MS Office Suite. Students will be required to demonstrate competency in E-mail/Internet general technology and word processing components and one additional component of their choosing prior to applying for graduation from the College of Southern Idaho.
Students may be awarded, at their request, 3 elective credits (INFT101 Computer Literacy Skill Development) upon successful completion of the CSA. The credits will be added to your transcript and you will be charged the transcription fee.
