Information on Scholarships and Financial Aid
Refer to CSI college catalog and student handbook. Pell Grants are processed on a first-eligible basis. Therefore, early application is beneficial. Nursing students are eligible for CSI scholarships.
In addition, these are other possibilities.
- Nursing students once admitted to the program may also apply for scholarships made available to the Department by the local hospitals through their contributions made at White Honors in the name of graduates that agency chooses to honor.
- At various times, agencies and groups notify the department of scholarships. These notices are also put on the bulletin boards. (Scholarships in this category are frequently based on such criteria as: geographic location, work site, veteran status, etc.)
- Some March of Dimes chapters have scholarships for nursing students. Students need to contact their local chapters.
- Nursing journals occasionally publish information on scholarship opportunities.
- SOME local clinical agencies have tuition assistance programs for currently employed personnel. If you work for a hospital or nursing home, you may wish to check on this possibility. Usually the student signs a contract agreeing to work for this agency after graduation if he or she takes assistance.
- Membership in the student nurse organization (ISNA, NSNA) makes one eligible for certain scholarships.
- The internet has information on financial aid available.
