Health Requirements

Students who have been admitted into the surgical first assisting program must undergo several health requirements before they enter into the clinical components of their study. 
Students are required to have current immunizations.  Please refer to the immunizations record sheet.

Students will need the following required exams after they are admitted to the program and before clinical rotation begins.
Requirements include:

• History and physical exam
• Eye exam (within the last 2 years)
• Dental exam (within the last 2 years)
• Current Immunizations including TB screen
• Current CPR Certification (good from before clinical starts until graduation)
• Drug test (to be done at the student health)
• Background check (current employment background check will work if within the last 5 years, and if your employer will provide documentation)
